Southland Achieves Energy Star 4.0 Qualification on Desktop Computer Systems
October 15, 2007
Southland Technology has achieved Energy Star 4.0 qualification on Southland Technology desktop computer systems based on Intel DQ35JO board and Core 2 Duo processors. Energy Star version 3.0 was replaced effective July 20, 2007 by the much stricter 4.0 Tier 1 energy efficiency requirements which will net our clients substantial annual energy savings. We had successfully qualified previous computer systems (including the DQ35JO) under version 3.0 and that experience prepared Southland for the challenge of finding a cost effective yet reliable RoHS 80+ power supply capable of Energy Star 4.0 requirements. The DQ35JO board is the new stable platform replacement for most of our clients with an expected distribution cycle of 2+ years. Selecting the optimal power supply for this platform ensures compliancy to the strict Energy Star 4.0 standards. Southland Technology is proud to be an Energy Star Partner and committed to building and qualifying computer systems bearing the Energy Star logo.
